File Type Converters

Something that is essential to any computer is at least one file type converter. Whether your a YouTuber, always editing and working with videos, or just a music guru, constantly downloading and editing your music collection, a file type converter is helpful to almost anyone.

Today I'm going to share with you some of my favorite types of file converters. Click any of the screenshots for an actual size screenshot.

Free Ipod Video Converter (Price: FREE)

This software from Koyote Soft not only converts almost any video file type to a type completely compatible with iPods by default (.mp4), it allows you to change the output settings for different types of iPods. But that's nowhere NEAR being the best part. This little baby will download videos direct from YouTube! Simply click the YouTube logo in the software, enter a URL, click the checkbox, and click download! Once the download is done, FIVC will automatically convert the video from YouTube's .flv format to the iPod-compatible .mp4 format! Now you can have any YouTube video right on your iPod! Awesome, right? It even has the capability to preview the video you're converting in a little iPod while you're converting them (at upwards of 100 fps)

Alive Video Converter (Shareware: Free to Try, $29.95 to buy)

But let's say you don't want your files to be in the iPod format? What if you just want to convert your files? Well there's always the Alive Video Converter. This converter is good if you want quick, easy file conversion. Plus it has a cool little triangle to start the conversion!

SUPER (Price: FREE)

This software is the do-it-all. Converts almost any file type into almost any other file type. Convert audio and video. Change the audio format in your video files, or the video format in your audio files (why do your audio files have video, anyway?) And the best part? Free. With tons of controls, you can get exactly the conversion you're looking for. However, with all these controls, it can take a little getting used to.

Out of these three converters, my personal favorite is the Ipod Video Converter from Koyote Soft. Maybe it's because it's the one I use most, but overall I find that one to be best.
